rheezicht house
mid century meets tradition
TEAM: Cilna de Waal
An extensive renovation project that transformed an outdated mid-century modern structure to accommodate the needs of a nature and entertainment loving family.
Stylistically it moved toward a more robust structure that engaged with its local Cape vernacular in palette, creating a natural and calm exterior.
The interior layout was opened up and enlarged to allow a large, open plan living area with strong visual experiences of the garden.

At night fires are lit in the large internal hearth and the entire entire house settles into a friendly, open and down-to-earth atmosphere.
